Biaxial Tensile Behavior of Commercially Pure Titanium under Various In-Plane Load Ratios and Strain Rates

The aim of the present work is to contribute characterization biaxial tensile behavior commercially pure titanium, under various in-plane loading conditions at room temperature, by a non-contact digital image correlation system. Several conditions, with load ratio ranging from 4:0 0:4 and displacement rate 0.001 0.1 mm/s, are examined. It found that yield strength ultimate sample greater than uniaxial sample, where equi-biaxial shows highest strength. also observed increase in strain leads remarkable improvement Fractographic analysis indicates shape size dimples dependent. Additionally, modified Johnson–Cook constitutive model was proposed account for effect on deformation. experimental results good agreement simulated results, indicating reliable predict deformation titanium different rates.
